Mobile Apps whitelisting

This article describes how to enable the whitelisting feature in Codeproof MDM also known as Kiosk mode. If you are already using Codeproof MDM, jump directly to Step-4.

Step-1. To get started, signup with Codeproof on the Codeproof website here. Click on "Sign-up" at the top right menu bar.

Step-2a. Next, On Samsung Devices, Install Codeproof Samsung MDM app by going to Google Playstore here. Follow Instructions to install App on your device.

Step-2b. Next, On LG Devices, Install Codeproof LG security app by going to Google Playstore here. Follow Instructions to install App on your device.

Step-2c. Next, On Android Devices, Install Codeproof Android MDM app by going to Google Playstore here. Follow Instructions to install App on your device.

Step-3. To enroll your device, you launch the MDM App and entering your Codeproof login information (email & password). Now Codeproof MDM is installed and running on your mobile device as well as visible in the web-based MDM Console.

The Next steps explains how to setup App-whitelisting.

Step-4. Install Codeproof App Manager app (Our Kiosk App) on your Samsung, LG & other Android devices by going to Google PlayStore here. Follow Instructions to install App on your device.

Step-5. The final step is to click on the "home" button on your device. This will prompt you to select a launcher home app. Select "Codeproof App Manager" and check the "Always" check box. Codeproof app manager is now your default home launcher app. See below.

Step-6. Login to Codeproof Console here and go to "Mobile Policy Manager" from top right menu.

Configuring Samsung and LG based Devices

Step-7a. Select an samsung/LG device or group of devices from the left side tree. On right side, in the details pane, there is tab called "Kiosk Mode". Select Codeproof app manager from drop-down list. You can also manually type com.codeproof.appmanager in the edit box. See below.

Step-7b. Then go to "Kiosk App Management" tab and select list of apps to whitelist or blacklist.

Step-7c. You can also set "Branding information" such as company name, contact phone number and background logo on each of the selected devices by selecting "Enable Branding" checkbox.

Configuring Android Devices (not Samsung and LG)

Step-8a. Select an android device or group of devices from the left side tree. On right side, in the details pane, there is tab called "Android App Management". Select this tab to configure App Whitelisting. See below.

Step-8b. Add "apps" to allowed whitelist by clicking on "Add App" button.

You can block or allow Android "settings" app as well. You can also select "All Apps" option in case you want to allow all the apps.

Step-8c. You can also set "Branding information" such as company name, contact phone number and background logo on each of the selected devices by selecting "Enable Branding" checkbox. See below.

Step-10. Device will provide access to only allowed apps. MDM Administrator can remotely enable/disable apps instantly. See below image illustrations.
