How to Disable the Edge Panel on Samsung Devices

Rajesh Daadi Updated by Rajesh Daadi

What is Edge Panel:

The Edge Panel is a feature available on certain Samsung devices. The Edge Panel is a feature that provides quick access to apps, tools, and various functionalities from a side panel that appears when you swipe in from the edge of the screen.

How to disable Edge Panel:

On older Android versions of Samsung devices, blacklisting the "com.samsung.android.app.cocktailbarservice" will disable the Edge Panel. We are aware of an issue where IT administrators are unable to disable the Samsung Edge Panel that is specific to Android 14 devices. This issue is not related to Codeproof MDM but rather is a known Samsung-specific problem.

Resolution:

Please follow the below steps to disable the Edge Panel manually.

  1. Go to 'Settings' app on device
  2. Select 'Display' option within the settings menu
  3. Look for 'Edge screen' under display settings
  4. Toggle the switch to turn off or disable the 'Edge Panel'

The below screenshot displays the option to turn off/disable the Edge Panel in the device settings.
