Using the Apple Configurator App on a Mac Computer

Using Apple's Configurator tool, IT Administrators can migrate iOS devices manually into Apple Business Manager (ABM), formerly known as DEP (Device Enrollment Program). ABM/DEP assignment enables supervision and locks an MDM profile in the device.

Steps:

  1. Download and install the Apple Configurator app from the Mac App Store.
  2. On a Mac Computer, launch Configurator app.
  3. Connect iPhone or iPad to Mac Computer via USB data cable.
  4. Follow the steps below to complete the enrollment.

Note: When you enroll a device in device management that was initially assigned manually, it behaves like any other enrolled device and is subject to mandatory supervision. The user of the device will have a 30-day provisional period to release the device from Apple Business Manager, supervision, and device management.

It's important to note that the 30-day provisional period begins after the device is successfully assigned to and enrolled in a Codeproof MDM server that is linked to Apple Business Manager.
